Doechii’s own personal journey with anxiety has not only made it into her chart-topping songs but has now led to her launching a broader mission that helps others.
The Grammy-winning rapper has become a household name this past year, with her showstopping performances and viral songs. Of those hits is Doechii’s song “Anxiety,” which was originally a rap she recorded in her bedroom for YouTube in 2019 and released on her self-produced mixtape Coven Music Sessions. Before the song’s official release earlier this month, it had already been a hit online and spoke to Doechii’s own struggleswith anxiety.
On Friday, March 28, Doechii announced on Instagram that she launched a mental health hub called “Anxiety is Watching Me” — a nod to her song lyrics — as a resource for those “navigating anxiety.”

On her Instagram, Doechii wrote in the caption, “Thank you for all of the support you’ve given my song Anxiety, now let me support YOU.”
The website provides a form that users can fill out that asks for country and email for updates, along with a section that says: “Share what has helped you with anxiety. Any links to resources, coping mechanisms, words of advice can help someone else.”
The website also has extensive links to resources in varying categories — including Mental Health America (MHA), The Crisis Text Line, The Trevor Project, and more. The site also links to creative communities including Queer Art, LGBTQ Writers in ScDoechii has been candid about her own struggles with mental health. In a cover story with The Cut last month, the rapper opened up about overcoming her thoughts of suicide that came after being bullied in middle school.
“I was getting bullied so bad that I was thinking about killing myself. I realized, ‘Oh, f*ck, I’m gonna kill myself and then I’m gonna be the only one dead,’” Doechii said. “The bullies aren’t gonna be with me, and everything they said is not coming with me either. I would just be gone.”
She continued: “I’m not going for that! And this wash of peace came over me… But it was more like this feeling of — I made a choice, a decision. I am the most important character in this movie.”
