BREAKING: SUSPECT ARRESTED..! – Deputies say a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the sh00ting d-e of a woman in Geismar, bringing a major development in the ongoing investigation.
GEISMAR, La. (WAFB) – A Geismar man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting has been taken into custody, officials confirmed.
According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Marquell Green, 22, was arrested on Friday, June 26, for second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Deputies responded to a home on Kerry Road in Geismar around 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, after receiving a report of a shooting. When they arrived, deputies found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials identified the victim as Shandolan Carey, 48, of Geismar.
During the investigation, detectives identified Green as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for him.
Authorities said Green and Carey knew each other.
