Patrick Brammall and Maxine Peake star in Apple TV’s upcoming six-part thriller series, Last Seen, which premieres in September

pple TV just dropped a first look at its upcoming thriller Last Seen – and the cast alone has me sold. The six-part drama, which arrives in September, stars Patrick Brammall (aka Gordon from Colin From Accounts) and Maxine Peake (Say Nothing, I Swear).

Based on Ryan David Jahn’s acclaimed 2011 novel The Dispatcher, the series follows detective Ian Ridley. His life is turned upside down when he answers a call from a distressed teenage girl and becomes instantly convinced she’s his daughter, who vanished 11 years ago.

The story follows a police officer whose daughter vanished 11 years ago

What is Last Seen about?

Billed as a “gripping” thriller, the series centres around police detective Ian Ridley (Brammall), whose life fell apart 11 years ago when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace.

The synopsis continues: “Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a teenage girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.”

Starting alongside Patrick Brammall and Maxine Peake are Brendan Cowell (Dune: Prophecy), Daniel Henshall (Mickey 17), Jessica Wren (Mr. Inbetween), Zahra Newman (Thirteen Lives) and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.

Last Seen premieres on Wednesday 9 September with the first two episodes. The remaining episodes will be released weekly on Wednesday until 7 October.
