Police were called to an apartment building to reports she was outside unresponsive.

Woman found dead at Henley Beach apartmen

A woman’s body has been found in a popular beachside suburb of Adelaide, sparking a major emergency response and police investigation.

Emergency services were called to an apartment building at Henley Beach just after 6.30am on Thursday following reports a woman had been found outside unresponsive.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the woman could not be revived.

The incident has triggered a significant police response, with detectives and forensic officers spending most of the morning scouring the scene and speaking to witnesses.

It’s understood one line of inquiry being investigated is whether the woman may have fallen from a balcony.

Police have escorted a man from the property, believed to be the woman’s partner, who is assisting detectives with their inquiries.

The large crime scene has left neighbours and early morning beachgoers shaken.

“I was surprised to see flashing lights. I wasn’t sure what it was first and I noticed the police tapes blocking off so I had to take a detour along the beach here,” one witness said.

“It’s quite shocking actually. I mean, I walk down here all the time with my dog and to be walking along the beach and to see police cars everywhere, it’s, you know, really quite disturbing,” another beachgoer said.
