Miranda Lambert Shakes Up “Little Red Wagon” with Bold Lyric Twist—Fans Go Wild Over Her Fearless Move!

Miranda Lambert’s Most Memorable ACM Moments: Shade at Blake Shelton and More

As the ACM Awards approach this week, let’s take a look back at one of the most memorable moments in recent history — Miranda Lambert’s epic shade at her ex-husband, Blake Shelton.

During her performance at a past ACM Awards, Miranda set the stage on fire with a medley of hits like “Kerosene” and “Gunpowder and Lead”, but the real jaw-dropping moment came when she changed the lyrics to “Little Red Wagon”. Instead of singing, “I live in Oklahoma,” she emphatically belted out, “I got the hell out of Oklahoma.”

It was an obvious dig at Blake, an Oklahoma native, and while she had been performing the song with the new lyric for some time, it was the first time she had done it with Blake in the same room. Naturally, fans couldn’t help but wonder what his reaction was. Sure, it may have been a petty moment, but let’s be honest — everyone was waiting for the camera to catch Blake’s face.

In the end, though, Miranda has every right to change the lyrics, especially since she doesn’t live in Oklahoma anymore. But there was definitely a little extra fire in that performance with Blake in the crowd, and we love her for it.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s Special Song “Over You”

Despite the playful digs, it’s not all bad blood between Miranda and Blake. She has shared how special their song “Over You” is, a song they wrote together about Blake’s late brother. Miranda called the song a significant moment for them both, explaining, “I’m glad we shared that song and that it helped his family heal, to have that together.”

Miranda Lambert Calls Out Ashton Kutcher at the 2012 ACM Awards

Another iconic ACM moment came in 2012 when Miranda Lambert wasn’t afraid to speak her mind about Ashton Kutcher’s cringe-worthy appearance at the awards. Kutcher, dressed like a cowboy clown, butchered a cover of George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart” before introducing the nominees for Female Vocalist. The performance was awkward, and many country fans were left wondering why Ashton, a celebrity from outside the country music world, was on stage in the first place.

While Ashton is a country fan (his level of fandom might be debatable), his performance was widely seen as a mockery of the genre. Miranda, however, didn’t hold back when she later admitted her discomfort, calling it a “dumb moment in ACM history.”

However, a month later, when Miranda met Ashton at the Kentucky Derby, she shared that Ashton “loved real country music,” which helped soften the blow.
