Decision Time: Aaron Rodgers Reveals If He’s Picking Steelers, Vikings, or Walking Away for Good

Aaron Rodgers has broken his silence on the next chapter of his career. In a highly anticipated update, the quarterback reveals whether he has made a final decision between joining the Steelers, the Vikings, or stepping away from the game entirely.

Aaron Rodgers spoke about his future in an unexpected interview with Pat McAfee. The first thing the quarterback confirmed was his visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers, sharing several details about his arrival in the city.

“Obviously, I went out to Pittsburgh. Tried to do that as quietly as possible. A lot of people think I’m desperate for attention. I did fly into a different airport, I got a Malibu rental car, drove the car into the facility, and then somebody in the building must have said something.”

The former Super Bowl champion with the Packers admitted that he wanted to go unnoticed, but someone leaked his presence in the facility. Because of that, what was supposed to be a secret meeting turned into a trending topic on social media.

Is Aaron Rodgers a free agent now?

Yes. Aaron Rodgers is a free agent, and that’s why he made it clear that, due to personal reasons, he’s not ready to announce his final decision. However, the quarterback had a great message about Mike Tomlin.

“I’ve talked to Mike Tomlin. He’s more than I even thought from as far as the type of person that he is. I have a lot of respect for what he has accomplished in the league. It was nice to go into the city. I’ve never really spent any time in Pittsburgh other than the few times that we played there, but, yeah, I enjoyed talking to Mike. I wanted to see what it was like there. See the facility. Just get a glimpse of what life would be like in Pittsburgh. So, I thought it was important to go see it in person and I also wanted to do it as quietly as possible.”

Will Aaron Rodgers play for the Steelers?

Aaron Rodgers received that question directly from Pat McAfee but didn’t want to give a definitive answer. The star simply said that he doesn’t want to hold any team hostage and that, if they want to sign him, the only option is to wait.

“I’m trying to be open to everything and not specifically attached to anything when it comes to this decision. I’m not holding anybody hostage. I really want to emphasize that. I’ve been up-front from the beginning. I don’t mean any disrespect to any player on their team. I’m just going through a lot in my personal life that has to take presence at this point. When a commitment to a team is made, it has to be an all-in type of commitment. I don’t think it’s fair to the Steelers or to anyone to make a decision while I’m dealing with a lot off the field. So, at the same time, I want to keep the communication lines open. The people who need to know, know.”
