Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs began training camp with several injury-related absences. Although the outlook doesn’t seem serious, the situation creates uncertainty heading into the preseason games.

Andy Reid and the Chiefs are going through a pivotal moment for the NFL’s most recent dynasty. After losing the Super Bowl to the Eagles, the team knows this might be the last year Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce play together.
As a result, general manager Brett Veach tried to keep the roster intact for another push, although he couldn’t avoid major losses like Justin Reid and DeAndre Hopkins.
However, as long as Mahomes is in charge, the Kansas City Chiefs will remain contenders, and the offense looks very dangerous with Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Kelce. Obviously, a key factor will be how many games Rice is suspended for due to the controversial incident in Texas.
Who got injured with Chiefs?
Tre Watson, Jawaan Taylor, and Kristian Fulton are injured with the Kansas City Chiefs and have yet to take part in the first days of training camp. All of them are on the PUP list.
Watson joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2025 after his time at Texas A&M, and considering Travis Kelce’s age and wear and tear, he could be a key factor in providing depth at the position alongside Noah Gray.

Meanwhile, Taylor is perhaps the name that causes the most concern, as the offensive line is the unit that needs the most improvement after what happened in that last Super Bowl against the Eagles. Also, due to his performance and the number of penalties on the field, Taylor could be on the spot and risk losing his starting position.
