The Kansas City Chiefs are focused on the NFL offseason under the direction of Andy Reid and with Patrick Mahomes as the star on the field. The goal is to maintain their status as Super Bowl contenders, something they came close to winning last time. In between, the story of a former league champion player with the Missouri franchise has resurfaced.
Not all players are prepared to stay competitive for long. Coaches like Reid push the envelope and need their offensive weapons to perform at their peak to get results. In that context, there may be examples of potential stars who are not giving their full attention to football.
In this case, it’s former Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney who has made an unusual clarification regarding the rumors about his early retirement from the NFL. Recently, speculation surfaced on social media suggesting that Toney had shifted his focus to his music career.
Toney’s statement on retirement rumors
In recent hours, it was Mahomes’ former teammate who personally addressed and denied the retirement rumors. Toney made it clear in an Instagram post that he has no intention of retiring, even if “the internet says otherwise.” The two-time Super Bowl champion also stated that his focus remains on football.

The former Chiefs player came to the Missouri franchise after spending his first two seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants, the team that drafted him. He spent two seasons in Kansas City alongside Mahomes and Reid, appearing in 20 games and three playoff games.
Toney’s passion for music
In recent months, the former Chiefs wide receiver has focused more on music and rap than on sports. “I love that my music is getting so much attention. It’s a passion,” Toney wrote in his post. Last season, far from Kansas City, Toney played just three games with the Cleveland Browns but was released after mishandling a punt and receiving a taunting penalty during a game.
