Three key things Meghan Markle kept from her showbiz life after ‘vowing to quit fame’

For years before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan enjoyed a successful career as an actress, and whilst she gave up acting, reports have claimed she kept three key aspects of her showbiz life

When Meghan Markle became Duchess of Sussex upon her marriage to Prince Harry she was catapulted to a level of fame that she had never known before – despite being a successful actress for many years. During her seven-season tenure on the hit show Suits, she gained a wealth of fans and ran a popular lifestyle blog called The Tig, both aspects of her career that she gave up when becoming an official member of the Royal Family.

However, despite how much Meghan’s life changed when she got married, and how much she had to give up – including her life in Canada – there were still three aspects of her former life that she retained, a royal expert has claimed. The expert – royal author and historian Robert Lacey – claimed in the Daily Mail back in 2020 that even though Meghan was beginning a new chapter as a working royal, she kept on three key members of staff to help her deal with any major issues that might come up.

“When she got engaged to Harry in 2017, Meghan had announced a definitive end to her showbiz career,” the expert wrote. “But she had retained her Hollywood ‘three As’ — her agent, attorney, and accountant — to field calls relating to the professional side of her life.” The expert added that one of the professional contacts from her life as an actress that Meghan kept in touch with during her time as a working royal was especially key. “And she remained particularly close to Keleigh Thomas Morgan, a representative of the crisis management and PR firm Sunshine Sachs, with whom she had worked while she was acting in the legal drama Suits.

“Thomas Morgan had become a friend and in due course a fellow new mother — she had occupied a prime seat at the royal wedding — and as Meghan’s relationship with Buckingham Palace went awry, Keleigh moved into the vacuum to give Meghan the benefit of her professional advice.” In 2022, it was reported that Harry and Meghan had parted ways with Thomas Morgan’s PR company because the couple had decided after setting up their Archewell Foundation that their communications should be handled in-house from that point onward.

A source told the Daily Mail at the time: “When Sunshine Sachs began working with the Duke and Duchess, the plan was always for it to be temporary until a full-time internal team could be created. After they were hired, Sunshine Sachs worked alongside them to help the transition. All sides are on good terms and periodic advisory work continues.”
