Celebrity Big Brother fans were left scratching their heads during Thursday’s episode. As the show kicked off, ITV viewers got a little teaser of the drama set to unfold later in the programme.
One part had the finalists getting all teary-eyed as they read letters from their nearest and dearest. Donna Preston couldn’t hold back the waterworks, while JoJo Siwa found solace in the arms of a fellow contestant.
But the audience at home couldn’t wrap their heads around why the celebs were getting all emotional over letters after a short time away – especially when they’re due to exit the house on Friday.
Hopping onto social media, fans didn’t hold back with their opinions. One viewer wrote: “Letters from home are so dramatic.. have these people never been on holiday for a few weeks without seeing their family.”

Another chimed in: “Why even bother wasting an episode on letters from home? They’ve been gone three weeks, and get out tomorrow??”
A third suggested: “They need to scrap letters from home. It’s not I’m a Celeb.”
Someone else was baffled as the tweeted: “Surely letters from home should have been last week? They are seeing them tomorrow, ffs.”
Another fan griped: “Letters from home is literally the WORST episode in any reality TV show! You’ve been away for 3 weeks…why are you crying.”
CBB viewers were quick to share their thoughts on Twitter
Despite the backlash, there were those who looked forward to the sentimental segment. One viewer admitted: “I might be the only person who actually likes letters from home. Even after just under 3 weeks.”
Before the latest episode aired, the Celebrity Big Brother official X account teased fans with a clip showing the housemates getting all teary as they read their letters from home, reports Bristol Live.

It’s down to the wire with Donna Preston, JoJo Siwa, Danny Beard, Jack P. Shepherd, Chesney Hawkes or Chris Hughes all in the running to be declared the winner come Friday night.
